Frame The unique Purolator Monobond comcept involves a one-piece frame sealed under heat and pressure. The result is a 100% bond of media to frame on all sides eliminating weak corners and air bypass (A). The use of a high tensile strength polyethylene binder provides a strong yet flexible seal able to withstand varying temperatures and humidity levels. When compared to traditional designs, the Monobond 2" filter's notched frame corners (B) allow units to interlock providing approximately 33% savings on warehouse space and freight costs. For certain heavy duty applications, Purolator also offers this filter in a Box frame constrcution in a limited number of sizes. (our Box frame style is illustrated on the top-most photo as the left stack of filters).

Media Overall filter integrity of the Monobond 2" is assisted by the addition of a Tri-Directional Scrim backing (C) to the downstream side of the media. This scrim backing is laminated to the fiberglass and provides downstream support while promoting minimum fiber displacement at high velocities, and reducing restriction to air flow. The non-metal nature of the backing also eliminates sharp edges making for safe installation and easy disposal. To enhance filtration capability and prevent migration of particles into the duct work, the filter media is evenly coated with a gelled adhesive (D). Also, a computer controlled manufacturing process assures a uniform gradient desity pattern in the fibergalss media. Each of these procedures promted full depth loaing and high dust holding capacity.
